Adult ADHD Assessment
The assessment itself is completed across two telehealth appointments with an experienced psychologist. The first session involves a comprehensive clinical interview where we explore your current concerns, daily functioning, and personal history in depth. This conversation helps identify patterns related to attention, impulsivity, organisation, and other areas commonly associated with ADHD, while also screening for other factors that may influence concentration and wellbeing, such as anxiety, stress, or past experiences. The aim is to understand how these difficulties may affect different areas of your life, including work, study, relationships, and everyday responsibilities.
In the second session, we review the findings together and discuss whether the assessment indicates that ADHD criteria are met. You will receive clear feedback about the results, along with a personalised explanation of how your experiences fit together. Practical recommendations are provided to support next steps, which may include therapy, ADHD coaching, workplace or study adjustments, or referral to a psychiatrist if medication is something you wish to explore. There is also time to ask questions and discuss strategies that may support your goals moving forward.
Following the assessment, a comprehensive written report is prepared summarising the clinical findings, diagnostic reasoning, and recommendations. This report can be used to guide treatment planning and, if relevant, to support further consultation with other health professionals. The overall process is designed to be collaborative, respectful, and focused on helping you better understand your mind and access the supports that may improve your day-to-day functioning and wellbeing.
